- Minimal maintenance: Maintenance-free motor—long service life, low routine upkeep.
- Economical: Affordable compared to large centrifuges—ideal for small/medium labs.
Working Principle
High-speed rotation generates centrifugal force, separating sample components by density. Denser particles/cells migrate to tube bottom; supernatant remains above. Optimized airflow reduces heat buildup, maintaining sample integrity.
Application Areas
- Molecular biology: DNA/RNA extraction, PCR cleanup, gel recovery.
- Clinical testing: Serum, plasma, urine separation.
- Biopharmaceuticals: Protein precipitation, virus isolation, small-volume vaccine prep.
- Cytology: Cell collection/washing, organelle separation.
- Environmental science: Particle enrichment, water sample analysis.
- Chemical analysis: Separation/removal of suspended particles in solutions.
